this stupid paleo diet is no joke. i am going through some serious withdrawals. carbs, sugars, dairy... you name it, i am missing it BIG TIME. i suffered through a major lack-of-sugar-induced headache all day yesterday [hence no blog post], and although i do feel much better this morning i am worried for what is ahead of me today.
see, my pre-paleo diet consisted of pasta, potatoes and cheeses, and little to no meat. i have never been a big meat eater - i have never been a true vegetarian, since i eat a lot of fish - so i didn't really eat that badly. my favorite meals were things like sauteed vegetables over cous cous, pasta salad, bruschetta, my mom's tomato bread, my grandmother's spaghetti recipe - things that weren't awful for you, but things that contain all the food i can no longer eat as a paleo.
so, i think i can make it work... if i add some sweets. i found a recipe for dark chocolate paleo brownies from easy peasy, and even though i'm not much of a baker, i just have to try it.
i have to do something to ward of the shakes and night sweats :)

paleo + photo challenge.
well, i kind of went on a binge there. between the stress eating during finals, the holidays and parties, my godmother's cooking, not having my own kitchen to cook in and laziness that's really about it.
so i am not just going on a diet like everyone else on the planet now that it's january 2nd. i am doing the paleo diet. before you judge me for jumping on the trend bandwagon, there is a good reason. we are staying with my dad while we apartment hunt, and he and his wife are doing paleo as of january 1st. so since we are staying here, there is a better shot of us staying on the diet too. plus, paleo is basically just cutting out processed foods, so it's really just eating healthy [without the carbs]. i am hoping that the paleo diet and lifetsyle will help cure some health problems i head in 2012.
i'm not big on posting recipes, but if i find some food ones i will definitely share. so far it's been a lot of scrambled eggs and water.
i am doing a 365 day photo challenge with my mom. the challenge is to take one photo a day for the entire year. we've started a dropbox to share them with each other.
so here is my 2nd photo of the year:
and if you notice the bottles of wines in the bottom of the cart... it's because we are not giving up booze. a girl's gotta have some fun... :)
